The bronze wash is nicely intact but oxidised. The clasp is a mid to late war standard 1st pattern FLL clasp, with a separately soldered hinge and hook and magnetic back plate. Non maker marked, measures 95 mm x 25 mm. LINKS. The reverse also has a magnetic painted back plate held in by two vertical edge punches. Priced for condition. Given for 30 days of close combat of hand to hand fighting. The hinge on this example is part of the overall casting of the badge and the hook has been counter sunk into the badge. It is constructed out of a die struck zinc-alloy base that has been bronze two-toned bennlack finished.
