Through this short course on medical ethics, learners will be able to examine most of the ethical and social issues which surround the practice of medicine, especially the relationship between the physician and the patient. The course is intended to cater for medical, nursing and allied professionals and administrators who feel the need for an opportunity to review and update their thinking about ethical issues - including medical and nursing teachers, nurses, GPs, consultants, members of ethics committees, hospital administrators, and officials in government departments with responsibilities for health care. This course provides students with an overview of the ethical and political issues that underlie public health and public health research.
